Base64 Byte Conversion

base64$ = BytesToBase64$(data$)

data$ = Base64ToBytes$(base64$)

A string containing bytes. Only the lower 8 bits of each character are used.

The base64 encoded data string.

These functions allow a series of bytes to be converted to base64 for transmission to another system.

Base64 is a form of binary-to-text encoding scheme that represent binary data in an ASCII string format by translating it into a particular set of 64 characters. The 64 characters are both members of a subset common to most encodings, and also printable. This combination leaves the data unlikely to be modified in transit through information systems that may not transmit all 8-bit characters without alteration.
