atlas = GenTileAtlas(width, height)

This function returns a new Game Engine tile atlas object. A tile atlas is used to arrange your tile graphics in the format used by the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). It is important that the graphics be formatted in this way to make use of the speed of the GPU.

The width and height of the tile atlas must each be a power of two. It is recommended that width and height be 256 or higher. The tile atlas does not need to be square. A good tile atlas size that will work on any device is 1024x1024. Most newer devices can handle 2048x2048 with no problem.

Always try to arrange the tilesets in your atlas into as small an area as possible. Make your tile atlas' only as big as they need to be.
