HttpPost

HttpPost url$, data$, response$

This function does a HTTP POST to the specified URL address. The data value pairs are coded in the data$ as a delimited string.

This function returns a response which will depend on what the URL specified wants to return.

On failure the HttpGetError$() function will not return and empty string "" and should be used to get an idea what the problem was.

Here is an example of how to POST to the demo posttest.php on the Mintoris web site. posttest.php simply echos back two values set in data$.

url$ = "www.mintoris.com/demo/posttest.php"
data$ = "name=fred&age=29"

HttpPost url$, data$, response$
error$ = HttpGetError$()
If error$ <> "" Then
Print "POST Error: "; error$
End
Endif

Print "Response: "; response$

Here is the contents of posttest.php. As you can see it simply echos the values back.

<?php
echo 'Name='.$_POST["name"];
echo ';Age='.$_POST["age"];
?>
